Saturday at The Americana

We decided to go for a Saturday adventure, so we headed for Glendale to The Americana. It is a beautiful outdoor mall with a center fountain that has an hourly water show. On Saturdays, they have a Farmer's Market with a petting zoo and pony rides. The mall even has a playground for kids with comfy couches so the parents can sit and watch. We found an amazing kitchen store and bought Joel something he's always wanted... a pancake dispenser (to make perfectly round and measured pancakes!). We ate lunch outside at The Cheesecake Factory and enjoyed the gorgeous weather. What an amazing family day!

We went home after lunch, rented a movie and we're having chocolate chip pancakes for dinner! :)

Chore Cards

We are starting new chore cards this week with the boys...
I have done this periodically with Landon, but it is time for Parker to get on board! I made laminated cards with my computer clip-art. They will hang from clothespins in the hallway upstairs. They each have their own daily cards to complete and turn over when done!


They also have one chore to complete TOGETHER (trying to encourage teamwork). They need to work together to empty all the trashcans... every day. Yea for mom!

When they complete a job, they turn it over to find...
